A few days ago several users of older Samsung phones posted on forums and social media networks complaints about the latest update offered by the company for their terminals. It seems that the panels started showing fixed green stripes after this update. Samsung services refused to replace the panels for free, saying that it is a hardware problem that comes as a result of a mechanical shock. Well, it looks like Samsung India thinks otherwise.

Samsung’s subsidiary in India has announced that until April 30 it will replace displays affected by the problem for free in authorized services. In addition to the screen, it seems that the batteries of the terminals affected by the problem will also be replaced. The condition is that the phones have been purchased within the last 3 years and will be repaired even if their warranty has already expired.

At the moment, Samsung has not announced whether the replacement policy for affected displays is valid in several regions, only in India being adopted. Here is the list of affected models:

  • Galaxy A73
  • Galaxy M21
  • Galaxy M52 5G
  • Galaxy S21
  • Galaxy S21+
  • Galaxy S21 Ultra
  • Galaxy S22
  • Galaxy S22+
  • Galaxy S22 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Flip 3
  • Galaxy Z Flip 4
  • Galaxy Note 20
  • Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

I remind you that users claim that the problem occurs after the installation of One UI 6.0 or the April 2024 security update. It is quite bizarre that such a hardware problem is triggered by a software update, but this is what most affected users say.
