The Romanian national team dramatically defeated the German team, with a score of 3-2 (2-1), on Saturday, in Vrbovec (Croatia), in Group 6 of the elite tour of the European Under-19 Football Championship in 2024.
After a debut with the left, 0-2 against Turkey, the tricolors achieved a spectacular victory against the German team, thanks to the goals scored by Patrick Dulcea (28), Alexandru Stan (43) and Adrian Mazilu (90+4). Dzenan Pejcinovic scored for the losers (30, 62).
The selector Adrian Dulcea lined up the team: Vlad Răfăilă – Mario Aioanei, Mario Tudose, Robert Bădescu, Andrei Borza – Andrei Florea, Roberto Jalade (captain), Patrick Dulcea – Adrian Mazilu, Alexandru Stan (Jason Vescan-Kodor, 75), Rareş Pop (Adrian Caragea, 63).
Unfortunately for us, Turkey defeated Croatia (2-1) in the other group game and won the group with 6 points, Croatia and Romania having 3 points each and Germany 0 points.
On Tuesday, the games Romania – Croatia and Germany – Turkey are scheduled, both from 15:00.
The winners of the seven groups from the elite round qualify for the final tournament, hosted by Northern Ireland, between July 15-28. The Romanian national team participated in two editions of the U19 European Championship, in 2011 and 2022. In 2025, the final tournament will be hosted by Romania.
