Gigi Becali has contested the presence of women in sports on many occasions, and the FCSB boss was recently dissatisfied with the fact that referee Cristina Trandafir was in the VAR room during the match with FC Botoșani (3-2).

The match between FCSB and FC Botoșani, played on February 25 and ended with a score of 3-2, marked the presence of referee Cristina Trandafir in the VAR room.

This came with the decision to give a red card to Nana Antwi, and the Disciplinary Commission within the FRF severely penalized Gigi Becali after an uncontrolled slip at the referee.

Specifically, Becali received a 6-month suspension from carrying out any football-related activities and three fines, two of 10,000 lei each, plus one of 50,000 lei (the latter being the one that will have to be paid).

Moreover, the FCSB club was fined 5,000 lei. Becali was complained about by the general secretary of FRF Radu Vișan, shortly after the FCSB – FC Botoșani match.

“According to art. 12, 14 Bis and 15 related to art. 54/1 of the RD, the defendant Becali George is sanctioned with a Warning and a penalty of 10,000 lei, and Clubul FC FCSB SA with a sports penalty of 5,000 lei.

Pursuant to art. 12, 14 Bis and 15 related to art. 60 Encore of 1 – 2a of the RD of the FRF, the defendant Becali George is sanctioned with a Warning and a penalty of 10,000 lei.

Pursuant to art. 52/2/b of the RD, the defendant Becali George is sanctioned with a suspension of 6 (six) months and a penalty of 50,000 lei. In accordance with Art. 45/1 of the RD of the FRF, the defendant Becali George will execute the sanction for the most serious disciplinary offense provided for by art. 52/2/b of the RD, suspension for 6 (six) months and a penalty of 50,000 lei.
