WhatsApp has implemented a new functionality that will significantly improve the management of conversations in the application, especially in large groups where the flow of messages can be high.

This new feature, inspired by similar options on the Discord and Telegram platforms, allows users to pin up to three messages within a conversation to highlight them, WhatsApp writes.

The message pinning feature, which was originally introduced late last year, only allowed a single message to be pinned until recently. Recently, the limit was extended to three messages after a test period where users were able to pin up to five conversations in the Chats window. This change is now available to all platform users globally.

How to pin a message on WhatsApp

Users can pin messages for specific periods of time, such as one, seven, or 30 days. The process is simple: by long-pressing on the desired message and selecting the “Pin” option from the three-dot menu. Group administrators can also regulate whether participants are allowed to pin messages.

If users want to remove a pinned message, they can do so from the same menu, the feature providing flexibility in managing the conversation space.

In addition to pinning messages, WhatsApp also allows you to star them, a feature that has no usage limit and makes starred messages visible only to the user who selected them.
