  • the flying markets, increasing their number and expanding them to other localities in the urban environment of Bihor;
  • creation of the electronic register of farms in the county;
  • creating an interactive map of Bihor producers and processors.

The meeting was attended by dozens of Bihor farmers and processors, as well as the president of the Bihor County Council, Ilie Bolojan, the mayor of Oradea, Florin Birta, the representative of APIA Bihor, Ciprian Novac, the director of the Bihor Agricultural Directorate, Nicolae Hodishan, the representative of the Veterinary Health and Safety Directorate Alimentelor Bihor, Szalo Mureșan Dumitru, the director of the Bihor Public Health Directorate, Daniela Rahotă, as well as the president of the Bihor Hospitality Association, Mircea Popa and professor Dorin Coita from the University of Oradea.

“BIHORENI PRODUCERS’ FAIR” will be organized within the proposed partnerships between Oradea City Hall, Salonta City Hall, Marghita City Hall, Beiuș City Hall, Alesd City Hall, Bihor County Council, Intercommunity Development Association, Bihor Sustainable Development Agency, Oradea Tourism Promotion Association and Region and the Association of Farmers from Valea Ierului, having as collaborators the decentralized institutions from the agri-food sector in Bihor – AFIR, APIA, OSPA, DSV, DSP, the Bihor Agricultural Directorate, the Phyto-Sanitary Office.

The fair, at this moment, is organized in Oradea every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and the days of organizing the markets will be determined in the other cities. Istvan Csomortanyi, representative of the Valea Ierului Farmers’ Association, spoke to those present about the operating principles of the flying markets.

The creation of the electronic register of farms in Bihor county, divided by activity sector, will have an interactive map as its interface. This interactive map will allow easier identification of producers.

“The animated map will allow consumers with a single click to identify farmers in certain areas and even take a virtual tour of the farm as photos and videos from the farm will be uploaded here to convince them that the products are authentic,” said the director OJFIR Bihor, Cristian Buzlea. In the future, the platform will also allow the introduction of local gastronomic points.

And the HORECA sector’s need to purchase products directly from producers will be able to be satisfied with the help of this platform. “Local, fresh products from well-known and reliable sources, i.e. directly from the Bihor farms, will be able to reach the consumer’s table much more easily”, stated the president of the Bihor Hospitality Association, Mircea Popa.

“The importance of the local agricultural sector in the development of the county economy is crucial. For this reason, the Oradea City Hall proposes to increase the number of already existing flying markets in the city. This initiative aims to bring producers and consumers closer than ever, thus strengthening the ties between the two parties. We are confident that these measures will significantly contribute to increasing the quality of life of Oradea residents, through access to quality agricultural products, and will also lead to the support of agriculture in our county”, said the mayor of Oradea, Florin Birta.
