County bakeries fined by labor inspectors

In April 2024, the Labor Inspectorate, through the territorial labor inspectorates, carried out the national campaign to verify the way in which the legal provisions regarding the conclusion and execution of individual employment contracts are respected, as well as the legal provisions regarding the minimum requirements for safety and health at work by to employers who carry out activities in the field: “manufacture of bakery products and flour products” – CAEN code 107 (1071, 1072 and 1073).
The results of this campaign at the level of Galati County are as follows:
a. In the field of labor relations:
Following the 21 checks carried out, the labor inspectors applied a number of 6 contraventional sanctions, of which 4 warnings and 2 fines, totaling 3,000 lei, and ordered 17 measures to remedy the non-conformities found.
The most frequent deficiencies found in the field of labor relations were:
– the employer does not comply with the provisions of art. 119 of Law no. 53/2003R, respectively the obligation to keep to the defined workplace, according to art. 16^1 of the same normative act, record of working hours;
– the employer did not highlight the distribution of the work schedule in the individual part-time employment contract.
b. In the field of safety and health at work:
Following the 14 checks carried out, the labor inspectors applied a number of 19 contraventional sanctions, of which 15 warnings and 4 fines, totaling 19,000 lei, and ordered 19 measures to remedy the non-conformities found.
The most frequent deficiencies found in the field of safety and health at work were:
– improper organization of the prevention and protection activity;
– inadequate measures for providing first aid, extinguishing fires and evacuating workers;
– access and circulation paths not properly marked;
– all workers were not provided with individual protective equipment;
– failure to provide revisions and repairs to work equipment, according to the Galati Territorial Labor Inspectorate.
