Michael Jackson, Queen, Pink Floyd, Guns N’ Roses or Aerosmith, in a new version! Matei Ioachimescu returns to Bistrita with an exceptional concert – Bistritanul

Matei Ioachimescuone of the most virtuoso flautists of the moment, is preparing the ICONS national tour from May 9-25, 2024.

Audiences from Bistrița, Timișoara, Sibiu, Cluj Napoca, Baia Mare, Brașov, Buzău, Ploiesti and Bucharest are invited to participate in a thrilling show that promises to redefine the experience of a regular concert.

Shaping the music of “iconic” names such as Michael Jackson, Queen, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Guns N’ Roses or Aerosmith takes on new creative dimensions.

And this thanks to an original chamber group: a mini-orchestra of flutes, bass marimba and drums.

Matei Ioachimescu is already a (re)known artist of the international scenes.

Through his spontaneous and creative interpretation, through the way he conveys emotion and interacts with the audience, Matei Ioachimescu is considered a true “rockstar” of classical music. Alongside him, on May 14 in Bistrita will be The Romanian Flute Ensemble. The ensemble consists of flautists Tabea Bebeșelea, Katica Lázár, Eduard Miclea, Bella Moisa, Romina Onișor and Riana Savu.

The orchestra will be completed by the marimba player Irina Rădulescu – the only Romanian artist of international rank dedicated to this instrument, but also by Maria Rizea on drums.

Creativity and virtuosity are the essential attributes of the ICONS project, results of the collaboration between prestigious artists and composers such as Gabriel Almași, Dande Popescu, Ciprian Pop, Mihai Popean, Jorge Rojas and Aurelian Băcan.

Another mission of this itinerant project is to discover and train young talents, by organizing workshops and master classes with the artists involved.
