In order to stop receiving complaints that potholes appeared in the asphalt on one street or another, Braşov City Hall decided to carry out an assessment of the technical condition of all roads in the city. This expertise will cost 296,310 lei (including VAT) and will be carried out by the Brasov company Creative Media SRL, which obtained the service contract through direct award.
According to the specifications prepared by Braşov City Hall, the company that obtained the contract will have to scan the streets with the help of machines on which video cameras will be installed. These services must be provided for the entire road network of the city, which has a total length of 518 km.
What results are expected?
“Technical condition identification services will be provided on every street in the municipality of Brasov. The total length of 518 km is measured at the level of the road axis. Considering that the monitoring of the arteries will take place on each traffic lane, a total length of approximately 800 km is thus estimated, taking into account the number of lanes of each road artery in the municipality”it is stated in the specifications.
This scan will identify potholes, cracks, unevenness, the portions where the asphalt wear layer (the last layer) has disappeared, but also the condition of the curbs. The provider will also have to make available to the municipality a computer application and a map from which the state of the roads can be accurately determined.
After the field images are taken, they will be processed and problem areas will be marked with colors. Also, GPS coordinates will be recorded for problem areas.
