Lizzie, a musical journey full of emotion and passion proposed by the Suceava French Alliance for Wednesday, May 8 from 6 p.m.

In the series of events “Le chanteur du mois/Singer of the month”, the French Alliance from Suceava brings the talented Lizzie, an artist with a fascinating musical story and a distinct musical style, to the Suceava audience. The online event will take place on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 18:00 and is open to the general public, aimed at all those who are passionate about French and Francophone music.

Lizzie is a young French singer, with varied origins and musical influences, who has already traveled, throughout her career, different genres and cultures, always emphasizing emotion and passion. Starting from her first musical loves, Chopin and the piano, studied at the Avignon Conservatory, and going through the period when she dreamed of being a rock singer, Lizzie was always in search of new forms of musical expression. The voice of great artists such as Barbara, Lhasa and Joan Baez resonated strongly in his heart and soul, guiding him towards folk music, which became his true territory of exploration.

A transformative moment in Lizzie’s life and career was her encounter with Portuguese fado. This deep and poetic musical genre played a pivotal role in her life, inspiring her to explore the Portuguese language and culture. Portuguese studies led her to the heart of Lisbon, in Alfama, where she was completely absorbed by the atmosphere and traditions of fado. Thus, fado became more than a musical influence, changing this artist’s life, musical career and way of performing.

His first album, “Navigante”, released in 2015, reveals a collection of French songs loaded with feelings and “saudade”, a mixture of nostalgia, melancholy and pleasure. In 2016, in Paris, Lizzie lays the foundations of the project Fado Clandestinothrough which he continues to explore this musical genre, harmoniously uniting the two cultures, French and Portuguese.

Influenced by her childhood musical loves and always passionate about folk, in 2017 she formed the duo Louise together with artist Lise Martin, with whom he explores American musical traditions.
