Today’s main news in brief:

Sibiu City Hall will organize, at the end of this week, a tender for contracting the maintenance and repair services of the artesian wells and street boots. The 12-month contract is to begin in June and cover all 19 artesian wells and 30 street wells located on public property in the city.

A gazelle, a brown bear and two white wolves are the new animals at the Sibiu Zoo. They were brought from Mureș and Hungary, based on an exchange and a donation.

From May 9, the people of Sibiu will have a new sports base at their disposal, in the Obor area, the City Hall announces. At the event, football players from FC Hermannstadt and basketball players from CSU will hold an autograph session. The inauguration of the new sports base is thus announced with a delay of over a year and a month before the local elections.

FC Hermannstadt lost the last match of this season at home in the match against the last ranked in the championship, Politehnica Iași. The Moldovans thus obtained the three points needed to avoid relegation, while the Sibiians moved away from their goal – winning the play-out stage.

“The second half was the weakest since I’ve been here”, Măldărășanu reacted.

Klaus Iohannis left on Monday for a visit to the USA to be awarded at the “Atlantic Council”. According to BoardingPass, the head of state is using the same luxury plane with which he was last year in Africa and South Korea.

Inaugurated two weeks earlier, Casa Artelor opens to the public tomorrow.

This year marks 100 years since the Romanian Orthodox Church adopted the corrected calendar. How did the representatives of the Metropolitanate of Transylvania explain this decision to the citizens of Sibiu?
