The Iaşi Municipal Electoral Office rejected the candidacies submitted by Andrei Ciuhodaru, from REPER, and Dragomir Tomaseschi, from SOS Romania.
In the case of both candidates, BEM Iasi detected irregularities regarding the signature lists. Thus, some signatures came from people from other localities or the place of residence of the signatory was not listed. In the case of the SOS candidate, double lists were found, that is, the same signatories written on different sheets.
After verifying the signatures, the REPER candidate remained with 2,690 valid signatures, against the required 3,237, while the SOS candidate lacked less than 300 signatures.
Also, the candidacy of Ovidiu Moldovanu, an independent candidate for Iaşi City Hall, was rejected.
