Romanians will receive their recalculated pensions in September. Minister of Labor: “No pension will decrease”

The Minister of Labour, Simona Bucura-Oprescu, announced that in September Romanians will receive recalculated pensions and assured that no pension will decrease.

Simona Bucura declared, on Sunday on RTV, that the pension recalculation process will begin at the end of May.

“At the end of the month we will already start this process, and the envelopes with the recalculation decisions will reach the Romanians during the summer, and in September they will receive their recalculated pensions, the recalculated pension vouchers with their amounts following the recalculation”, explained Oprescu , according to News.ro.

She also stated that the new pension law brings etiquette to the system.

“Romanians must remember that no pension will decrease, so the most favorable amount is maintained. It is very important for Romanians to know this. It is true that the new pension law has a formula that will bring equity to the public pension system. What this means? That if you worked the same and paid the same contributions, even if you retired under different laws, even if you are a woman or a man, you will have the same pension amount. Careful! The new pension law is based on contribution, the formula says so, we have the total accumulated points which is made up of the total contributory points plus the assimilated points plus the stability points. Stability points are given for long contribution periods over 25 years to reward, to reward work. The pensions for which the retirees had internships over 25 years will increase to a great extent”, the Minister of Labor also said.
