A 27-year-old man is being investigated by the police from IPJ Olt after allegedly circulating fake 200 euro banknotes in the premises of some electronic game rooms.

The policemen of the Olt Organized Crime Service, together with the prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Slatina Court, documented the criminal activity of a 27-year-old man from the city of Scornicesti, investigated for the crimes of putting counterfeit foreign currency into circulation and fraud.

Following the investigations, it was established that, in April, the young man allegedly possessed and repeatedly circulated banknotes with a nominal value of 200 euros, likely to be counterfeited, in the premises of some electronic game rooms in Olt county .

“Following the activities carried out, 16 banknotes from the 200-euro bill and 28 banknotes from the 500-euro bill, likely to be counterfeit, were seized, in order to continue the investigations,” the Olt Police reported.

The young man was initially detained for 24 hours, and on Friday he was presented to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Slatina Court, which ordered the measure of judicial control for 60 days.
