Romania has hundreds of restaurants that have stood out in recent years through a different approach to gastronomy. From the modernization of traditional cuisine, to the exclusive use of local ingredients, from an increased attention in the choice of design or crockery to an impeccable service. However, the Michelin Guide is waiting, although it is knocking on the door, in the sense that Budapest benefits from their classification since 2015. Culinary experts point the finger at the state, which does not promote gastronomy.

The Michelin guide is knocking on the door. Don’t we open them?

“The Michelin Guide is like a guest, waiting for an invitation. For that, we need to make ourselves better known. We have many chefs in Romania, very good, but they are not promoted outside. Any chef wants to work in a Michelin-starred restaurant and will definitely end up in Romania”said Vlăduț Manoliu, chef, for Aleph News.
