Oradea hosts the 12th edition of the Robotics Championship. Teams from all over the world will compete here

In the 12th edition of the robotics championship, teams from Belarus, China, Colombia, Egypt, Greece, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine and Hungary will participate.

“During the event, each participating team will compete with robots built and programmed by its members in a collaborative international hobbyist competition. Currently, the “Robotics Championship” is the largest robotics event in the West of the country, ranking fourth in importance in Europe,” Visit Oradea said in a press release.

The purpose of the competition is to establish international collaborations between students and companies, in order to develop the new generation of engineers, programmers and designers.

Event calendar

  • May 9, 2024 – Day of tests and preparations, Antonio Alexe Sports Hall; (for participants)
  • 10 – 11 May 2024 – Event Days, Antonio Alexe Sports Hall; (open to the public)

The prizes of this edition

This year’s winning titles will bring educational and professional opportunities in the future career, as well as substantial prizes in technical equipment.

“The university is offering budgeted places and scholarships for future students who will win this competition. Students who manage to obtain 1st, 2nd or 3rd place results in any of the tests can benefit from a budgeted place in the specialization Robotics in English or Robotics in Romanian at the Faculty of Managerial and Technological Engineering at the University of Oradea”, added sent to Visit Oradea.

In addition to the opportunity to choose a career in engineering, the competition will have prizes worth thousands of euros in the form of equipment, hardware and parts.

The “Robotics Championship” is waiting for all enthusiasts and those curious about this field, from small to large, to assist them in this international competition. Participation for the public is free.

The championship is organized by the Faculty of Managerial and Technological Engineering, the Association for Robotics and Mechatronics together with Visit Oradea and Oradea City Hall.
