Special program at Passports and at the Permits and Registrations Service in Sibiu during the Easter period

The Public Community Passport Service and the Permits and Registrations Service within the Sibiu County Prefect’s Institution will be closed from May 1 to 6, 2024, on the occasion of the Easter holidays.

“We inform you that, in accordance with the provisions of art. 139 para. (1) from Law no. 53/2003 – Republished Labor Code and HG no. 1307/2023 – regarding the establishment of working days for which days off, other than public holidays, are granted for the year 2024, in the period 01.05.2024 – 06.05.2024, at the level of the Public Community Passport Service and the Permits and Registrations Service of within the Institution of the Prefect of Sibiu county, work with the public will not be carried out. We specify that starting from 07.05.2024 the activity with the public of the two community public services will resume according to the normal work schedule with the public without changes. We recommend all Romanian citizens to check the validity of their personal travel documents and the validity of minors’ travel documents in advance before traveling abroad.

Also, considering the fact that the regulation of the entry, stay or transit conditions of a country is a right of the state in question, we recommend that Romanian citizens check the conditions established by the state to whose territory they intend to travel, by accessing the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , www.mae.ro, Travel Conditions section.

As an example, we specify that countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Israel, the Republic of the Maldives, the Kingdom of Thailand require that the validity of simple electronic passports be at least 6 months after entering the country’s territory.
