BEJ Prahova gives the green light to the candidacy of Baron Iulian Dumitrescu from the PNL. He is being investigated by the DNA – Ziarul de Iasi

County Constituency Electoral Office no. 31 Prahova admitted, on Friday, the candidacy proposal of the president of PNL Prahova, Iulian Dumitrescu, indicted for corruption and banned from exercising the position of president of the Prahova County Council, for a new mandate at the head of the CJ. Iulian Dumitrescu fulfills “all the formal and substantive conditions” of Law 115/2015 that regulates the election of local public administration authorities and has submitted all the documents that the candidacy file must submit.

“Practically, the candidate proposed by this political formation (Liberal National Party – no) falls within the provisions of art. 4 of Law no. 115/2015 as he has the right to vote, is over 23 years old and resides in Prahova county, not being prohibited from joining political parties. In addition, this candidate is not found in any of the situations regulated by art. 6 para. 2 of Law no. 115/2015, having, therefore, the right to submit his candidacy under the conditions in which it was not proven that he was sentenced to a custodial sentence for crimes committed with intent, nor that he was denied the right to be elected in public authorities or in any other public positions, by final court decision”, the decision of the Prahova County Electoral Office states.

The BEJ notes, in the decision published on Friday, that the candidacy file is also accompanied by the list of supporters and has all the necessary documents.

The decision of the Prahova Electoral Office can be contested within 48 hours by “any interested person, political party, political alliances or electoral alliances”.

Iulian Dumitrescu, indicted for corruption and banned from exercising the position of president of the Prahova County Council, submitted, on Wednesday, the signatures and the candidacy file for a second mandate as president of the County Council. He says that he decided to run “so that the people of Prahoven have a better life” and “out of respect” for them.
