An oncology institute will be built in Timișoara

Also on Thursday, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced the start of procedures for the construction of the Regional Oncology Institute in Timișoara, an essential project for the lives of tens of thousands of patients from the entire region. This investment, with a budget of over 230 million euros through the PNRR, will have a significant impact.

The institute will have 250 beds and an integrated ambulatory with 26 medical offices. It will also be equipped with state-of-the-art technology for laboratory analysis, imaging, an operating room, intensive care and a transplant center. This decision comes after the construction, including the equipping, of the Mari Arși Hospital has already been approved.

“We have to tell the truth: in Banat, Timiş has been widowed for far too long by major projects. Although it is one of the economic growth poles of the country in 30 years, too little of the money of the citizens of Timiș county has returned here in investments that would make people’s lives better and too few investments in infrastructure so that they are attracted and more economic opportunities.

Today, we are starting the procedures for the construction of the Regional Institute of Oncology in Timișoara. It is a very important objective for the lives of tens of thousands of patients throughout the area, an investment through the PNRR of over 230 million euros.

The new institute will have 250 beds and an outpatient clinic integrated with 26 medical offices. There will be state-of-the-art facilities for laboratory analysis, imaging, operating room, intensive care and a transplant center, this after we have already approved the construction, with all the equipment, of the Mari Arsi Hospital”, said Marcel Ciolacu at the beginning of the meeting by government on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
