Ever since they met in the college jazz program, Nat Osborn and Mike Parker they made their way from playing on the streets of Budapest, to concerts in famous clubs in New York. They didn’t miss jazz concerts and festivals all over Europe, in some being headliners.

Although they are most often seen performing together as part of the jazz, rock and soul ensemble Nat Osborn Band, when performing as a duo they take the opportunity to do something different.

Parker ditches the electric bass for his favorite “double bass” and Osborn swaps keyboards for acoustic guitar. The sound remains jazz: jazz inflections that also incorporate Americana, blues and folk, thus uniting different musical influences.

Osborn is a well-known figure in the New York music scene, leading two bands: Nat Osborn Band and the indie-folk group Hawthorne.

Parker is a renowned bassist and bandleader/songwriter who leads several projects including Mike Parker’s Trio Theory and Mike Parker Quartet.

In such a formula, the people of Bistri had the opportunity to listen to Mike Parker in May 2022:

Osborn and Parker’s projects have independently released a multitude of albums, with Parker playing bass on the Nat Osborn Band’s 2017 live album and their 2018 double-sided single album Roam/Drifting. Osborn and Parker bring always a vibrant energy and impressive musicianship on stage.
