ACS Viitorul has only one more game to play at Târgu Jiu, the match against already relegated CS Tunari. It will be a holiday match for Călin Cojocaru’s team, who seemed to be on holiday since the beginning of this year when they only managed two wins.

In the last stage, ACS Viitorul was also defeated by CSM Slatina, a team that thus saved itself from relegation. The game of Cojocaru’s students was a modest one, without too many goal phases and no scoring opportunities, just like all the matches of his team this year. The Timișoara native admits that his team had a poor run this year and blames bad luck and injuries for the poor results. “We had other expectations, not just the rescue from relegation, after we finished in sixth place in the winter. For various reasons, injuries, bad luck, a disastrous course followed, but we hope for greater achievements in the next season”, said Călin Cojocaru, quoted by NewsFlux.

When referring to the disastrous course, Cojocaru talks about the official matches from 2024. There have been eight so far, of which the first five were lost, then two were won and, in the last stage, another defeat was registered.

ACS Viitorul Pandurii is saved from relegation from the previous stage and with the 29 accumulated points is in 5th place out of 7 in Group B of the play-out, where the last two ranked are mathematically relegated, CS Tunari and Progresul Spartac.

ACS Viitorul plays in the next stage at home, on Saturday, from 11:00, with CS Tunari (6th place, 17 points), and then it will perform away at Concordia Chiajna (1st place, 37 points), on May 3, from 11:00. This will be the last game this season, because ACS Viitorul will be in the last stage of the play-out.
