The EHF announced, on Wednesday, the schedule of matches in the preliminary groups for the 2024 European Championship. Romania will debut against the Czech Republic on November 29, in group B, in Debrecen.

The tricolors schedule in group B is: Romania – Czech Republic (November 29, 19:00), Montenegro – Romania (December 1, 19:00) and Serbia – Romania (December 3, 19:00).

In the other groups of the final tournament: A – Sweden, Hungary, Turkey, North Macedonia; C – France, Spain, Portugal, Poland; D – Denmark, Switzerland, Faroe Islands, Croatia; E – Norway, Austria, Slovakia, Slovenia; F – Netherlands, Germany, Ukraine, Iceland.

The tricolors qualified undefeated for the final tournament, and in the preliminary group 1 they achieved the following results: 48-18 and 37-16 against Bosnia and Herzegovina, 32-20 and 31-24 against Greece, 26-24 and 25-23 against Croatia. The tricolors finished undefeated, with 12 points.

The 2024 edition of the European Championship will be the first with 24 teams at the start and will be hosted by Austria, Hungary and Switzerland, between November 28 and December 15. The matches will be hosted in the preliminary groups by Debrecen (groups A and B), Basel (C and D) and Innsbruck (E and F), in the main groups by Debrecen and Vienna, the Austrian capital will also host the final stages.

The top two finishers in each preliminary group will qualify for the main groups.
