The Armand Călinescu Technical College is an architectural jewel of Pitesti, enhanced after the completion of the rehabilitation works!

Together with Liviu Mușat, the director of ADR South Muntenia, Ion Mînzînă, the president of the Argeș County Council, Dumitru Tudosoiu, the General School Inspector, but also local councilors and teachers, I visited the college.

We are delighted with the total transformation of the building, with the provision of school furniture and new equipment for the computer science, physics, biology, chemistry, commerce, textile, electro-mechanical and foreign language laboratories.

The two building blocks, C1 and C2, have 21 lecture rooms and 12 rehabilitated and modernly equipped laboratories.

And C3 has a hall for festivities, workshops and technical spaces.“, announced the mayor of Gentea.

Update: Pitesti City Hall announces:

The Municipality of Pitesti, as Beneficiary, implemented the project “Rehabilitation and modernization of the “Armand Călinescu” Technical College”, SMIS code 122294, co-financed within the Regional Operational Program 2014-2020.

The specific objective of the project was to ensure an educational process at European standards – investment in education and professional training for the acquisition of skills and lifelong learning, through the development of the educational infrastructure.

At the end of the implementation period, the “Armand Călinescu” Technical College is rehabilitated and modernized, the investments made within this project being:

– thermal rehabilitation works;

– rehabilitation and modernization of interior spaces (recompartmentalization, restoration of finishes, restoration of electrical, thermal, sanitary and fire, ventilation and air conditioning installations);

– replacement of the cover on the C1 body;

– replacement of non-circulable terrace layers at body C2;

– the consolidation and elimination of water infiltration works;

– the efficiency of energy consumption and its production from renewable sources by placing photovoltaic panels over the non-circular terrace of the C2 body;

– compliance of the construction with the requirements imposed by the national legislation on fire protection;

– improving the quality of the education infrastructure and equipping the college to ensure an educational process at European standards and increasing the participation of the school population in the educational process.

In the C1 body were modernized:

– basement: dance hall;

– ground floor: 3 classrooms, computer lab, geography, biology lab, chemistry lab and commerce lab;

– 1st floor: 7 classrooms, computer laboratory, methodical laboratory, history laboratory;

– second floor: foreign language office, 9 classrooms, physics laboratory.

In the C2 body were modernized:

– ground floor: workshop, post-secondary school, amphitheater, library, exercise room, changing rooms, medical office;

– floor: 3 classrooms, environmental protection laboratory, workshop, clothing workshop, electromechanics workshop.

School furniture was purchased and facilities were made for the entire educational unit (equipment for computer science, physics, biology, chemistry, trade, textile, electro-mechanical, foreign languages ​​laboratories).

The total value of the project was 32,452,582.77 lei, as follows:

– total eligible expenses – 11,905,520.88 lei;

– non-refundable funds – 11,667,410.46 lei;

-own contribution – 238,110.42 lei;

– ineligible expenses – 20,547,061.89 lei.
