CALEXICO, CA (SATURDAY, MAY 4, 2024) – The long-awaited grand opening celebration of Easy Access Urgent Care – LEGACY MD MEDICAL GROUP (formerly Vo Medical Center) took place on Wednesday evening in Calexico, at 222 E. Cole Blvd. The event featured a Selena Tribute by Miriam Baca, Cinco de Mayo dancing by Las Flores del Valle Ballet Folklorico, a free taco cart, vendors with information on community healthcare resources, facepainting and Cosplayers by the VIVA MAZE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT Arts Project, and a special tour of the urgent care facility to give the community a first-hand look into the state-of-the-art healthcare equipment brought to the valley just for them.
City of Calexico Mayor Guadalupe Romo presented a certificate of recognition to Dr. Tien Vo and LEGACY MD MEDICAL GROUP highlighting their extensive contributions to the community in healthcare and community support of sports and other public events.
“The City of Calexico thanks Dr. Vo, his family and all the professional staff of the Emergency Clinic in Calexico. The City of Calexico presents Dr. Tien Vo with this recognition for his important contributions to the health and well-being of the population of the City of Calexico and the entire Imperial Valley,” said Romo in her presentation during the grand opening ceremonies.
The Consulado de Mexico en Calexico, representatives from Congressman Raul Ruiz, District Supervisor Jesus Eduardo Escobar, and other local dignitaries were present, as well.
Luis Romero, Chief Operations Officer for LEGACY MD MEDICAL GROUP, said the new EasyAccess Urgent Care facility has state-of-the-art equipment including X-rays, an in-house laboratory, diagnostic ultrasound scanning equipment, bone density scanners for diagnosing and monitoring bone health (particularly for patients at risk for or suffering from osteoporosis). “We have all the medical equipment to meet urgent care demands. From the moment a patient arrives at our facility, we can provide them with all the urgent care they need,” Romero said.
Romero pointed out that the facility is the only urgent care facility in Imperial Valley accredited by the Urgent Care Association (UCA). The UCA is the trade association for urgent care, founded in 2004 and headquartered in Warrenville, IL, which represents professionals working in urgent care centers in the United States.
