Two months after she entered politics and was going to run on the lists of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians in the European parliamentary elections scheduled for this summer, on June 9, Monica Iagăr announced that she will also run for the District 6 City Hall.

Monica Iagăr, 50 years old, former high jump champion, gold medalist at the European Championships in 1998, will run on behalf of AUR both for the European Parliament and in the local elections, in which she recently registered.
Today, the former sportswoman announced on her Facebook account that she submitted her candidacy from the AUR for the elections for the position of mayor of Sector 6, currently held by Ciprian Ciucu (PNL). The elections will also take place on June 9.
In the last few days, Monica Iagăr participated in the collection of signatures in Bucharest, both for her and for other party colleagues.
“We unite in faith” was the message of Monica Iagar, who took a photo with supporters and the party’s leader, the controversial George Simion.
