Incredible situation in the largest hospital in Gorj, where it rained in two operating rooms. It would have been the fault of a clogged pipe that overflowed into the hospital. Fortunately, just yesterday the relocation of the Surgery Department began because the medical unit is undergoing rehabilitation. So the patients were not affected. Because of the construction site, surgeries were limited to urgent cases.

“The problems appeared since last evening, around 10 p.m., when, say the representatives of the medical unit, the pipe that collects the rainwater got clogged. Thus, the water easily infiltrated the two operating rooms located on the 2nd floor” , reports Diana Speretoriu, Observer reporter.

It rained in the operating rooms

“Just yesterday, before this situation, because the medical unit is in a rehabilitation process, the relocation of the entire surgery department, including the two operating rooms, began. A large part of the equipment was also moved , but there are still equipment left in the two operating rooms where it rained last night. The representatives of the medical unit assure that they would not have suffered because of this”, adds Diana Speretoriu, Observer reporter.

“Also, there were no problems regarding the patients or the medical staff. The Emergency County Hospital in Târgu Jiu is on the construction site, it is being modernized with European funds, and the works should be ready this spring,” says Diana. Speretoriu, Observer reporter.
