Elena Mateescu, head of the National Meteorological Administration (ANM), announces that we will expect sudden changes in weather conditions in the coming period, contrary to the previous days when thermometers even recorded values of over 25 degrees in some regions.
According to the meteorologist, the wind will be milder and there will be no more code orange and yellow warnings.
ANM announces lower temperatures in the coming period
The wind will continue to manifest itself especially in the region of the Eastern Carpathians, with gusts of 70-90 km/h, but also sporadically in the north, northeast and center of the country.
“From a thermal point of view, temperatures will already be decreasing, especially in the intracarpathian regions. There, the thermal values will no longer exceed 10-15 degrees Celsius, a difference of more than 10 degrees compared to what we recorded yesterday”, said Elena Mateescu, director of ANM.
The wind wreaked havoc across the country
On Wednesday, in Hunedoara county, strong gusts of wind caused the roof of a building to be torn off and several trees fell, which fell on top of cars.
According to ANM, the wind was strong in the counties of Satu Mare, Sălaj, Maramureș, Cluj, Alba, Bistrita-Năsăud, Suceava, Neamț and Botoșani, especially in the afternoon.
Also, there will be intensification of the wind in the counties of Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ilfov, as well as in the municipality of Bucharest, Călărași, Ialomița, Prahova, Buzău, Brăila and in the continental areas of the counties of Constanța and Tulcea.
In Bucharest, fire crews were alerted after trees blown down by violent winds caused significant damage to several vehicles.

In total, across the country, fire crews were called to remove 13 structures, 60 downed trees and four poles that had fallen onto the road, causing damage to three homes, an outhouse and 16 vehicles.
Railway traffic on highway 500, in the area of Moara Nouă in Prahova county, was temporarily disrupted due to fallen trees on the contact line.
Regarding the electricity supply, failures were recorded in seven localities in Harghita county, and currently specialized teams are working on the ground to solve the problem as quickly as possible.
