The European minimum wage becomes mandatory for all countries in the European Union and should enter into force by November 15.
In Romania, the European minimum wage enters into force on July 1.
Then, it will increase from 3,300 gross lei to 3,700 gross lei.
The PSD announces that it assumes as a major political objective the implementation of the European minimum wage in Romania, by the end of 2024.
The proposal will be made in collaboration with the Minister of Labor Simona Bucura-Oprescu, the social-democratic leadership conveyed in a press release.
“The PSD assumes as a major political objective the implementation of the European minimum wage in Romania, until the end of 2024.
In this sense, PSD specialists are already working on the elaboration of a regulatory proposal, for the transposition into national legislation of the European Directive on adequate minimum wages in the European Union,” according to a press release.
The great advantage of the European minimum wage is that it will evolve according to the average gross wage per country and every year there is a possibility that it will increase.
Also, the big winners will be employees with at least 24 months of service, to whom employers will be obliged to offer them above the minimum wage.
