Prahova Health Solidarity announced, on Wednesday, the launch of a warning strike at several hospitals in Prahova, including the Ploiești County Emergency Hospital. During the warning strike, the legal provisions are respected, regarding the provision of one third of the staff for emergency cases.

UPDATE: The list of demands includes the indexation of salary incomes with inflation. The medical staff claim that the much-promised wage increases do not even remotely ensure a decent standard of living, given that, according to those who protest, “inflation has already reached 25%, and will reach 28% in June 2024”.

At the same time, medical staff do not agree with the emergency ordinance regarding salary increases, considering that the normative act contravenes the future salary law.

“The emergency ordinance fails to cause wage income growth to catch up with inflation,” the protesters claim.

Initial news

Prahova Health Solidarity announced that the warning strike is taking place on Wednesday at Ploiești Emergency County Hospital, Ploiești Municipal Hospital, Ploiești Pediatric Hospital, Baicoi City Hospital and Câmpina Municipal Hospital.

“At this moment, the members of the Prahova Health Solidarity from the Ploiești County Emergency Hospital are on a warning strike because the Government is announcing to health workers that they will increase their salaries, when in fact the real salary incomes are decreasing for the majority of employees!”, announced, on Facebook, the “Health Solidarity” Federation from Romania.

During the warning strike, the legal provisions are respected, regarding the provision of one third of the staff for emergency cases.

Solidaritea Sanită Prahova posted several images from the warning strike.
