Cluj: Man caught on the A3 with a car full of contraband cigarettes! The police found 10,000 packages – PHOTO and VIDEO

A resident of Sătrămăre was caught on the A3, on the Nădășelu-Câmpia Turzii section, while transporting a huge amount of contraband cigarettes. The police found 10,000 packages in the van driven by the man.

,,On April 30 this year around 01:30, the policemen of the Cluj Economic Crime Investigation Service, with the support of the policemen from the Turda-Borș A3 Highway Police Bureau, intercepted traffic on the A3 Highway, on the Nădășelu section “Câmpia Turzii, a van driven by a 40-year-old man from Satu-Mare county, who was suspected of transporting cigarettes without having applied a tax stamp.”according to IPJ Cluj.

During the control, the police found that he was carrying 200,000 cigarettes, without having applied a tax stamp.

The police confiscated the entire quantity of cigarettes and 7,600 lei discovered on the man.

Based on the evidence administered, the man was detained for 24 hours, to be presented to the magistrates in order to order another preventive measure.

In the case, the investigations are continued under the aspect of committing the crime of smuggling, an act foreseen and punished by the Customs Code.
