PRESS RELEASE
No. 150 from 01.05.2024
Compliance with fire prevention rules
The holidays are approaching, and citizens carry out a series of activities in their households to ensure the cleanliness of their homes and the preparation of traditional Easter products. To prevent fires, ISU Giurgiu recommends observing the following measures:
- permanently maintain cleanliness and order in kitchens or food preparation areas;
- supervise hobs and stoves when cooking;
- store food/culinary products, such as oil, fat, alcohol, which present a fire hazard, at a safe distance from sources of ignition;
- use household appliances such as fryers, microwave ovens, electric ovens, etc. according to the manufacturers’ instructions and do not leave them plugged in if they are not in use;
- during cleaning, do not overload the electrical installation;
- use open fire at a safe distance from buildings or feed stores;
- store the ash resulting from the heating means in a place designed for this purpose, without the risk of fire and only after completely extinguishing the remains of embers;
- keep sources of fire, such as matches, lighters, candles, gas lamps and the like, in places where children do not have access;
- do not put lit candles very close to everything that can easily ignite (furniture, curtains, newspapers, etc.) or in places where children and animals can reach, so as not to knock them over and cause fires;
- supervise children at all times and do not leave them alone in the house with burning candles, stoves, stoves and/or electrical appliances in operation.
