Timișoara will also have participatory budgeting this year, with the citizens going to decide directly where a small part of the local budget money will go, i.e. 4 million lei. The regulation was approved by the local council, and the stages of the process were established.

Of course, even this year the money is not allocated to any field in which the taxpayers want, but only to the directions in which the mayor’s office is interested and to the areas of the city, also of interest. The third edition of participatory budgeting comes with a number of specific objectives, including allocating the total budget equally to the eight defined areas

(https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1b1uOAAkyQL_b5YJ0WrMan4m6ey3ducQ&usp=sharing ), with the aim of increasing the territorial distribution of winning projects. Also, project proposals aimed at increasing social cohesion and the quality of life in neighborhoods are encouraged, through initiatives regarding green spaces, playgrounds, common spaces (pedestrian areas, squares, squares), spaces dedicated to sports and others.

Submission of projects takes place between May 10-June 30, their analysis between July 1-August 14, appeals will be debated between August 15-22, and votes will be given between August 23-September 23
