The trade unionists from the Prahova museums will be on a Japanese strike on Thursday. The main dissatisfaction is the salary inequities in relation to the education system. The employees of the Prahova County Museum of History and Archeology and its subordinate sections also participate in the protest actions.
The Independent Trade Union FIDES of the employees of the Prahova County Museum of Natural Sciences, affiliated to the National Federation of Trade Unions in Culture and Press, CulturMedia, affiliated to CNS CARTEL – ALFA, announces that it will participate, on Thursday, April 4, 2024, in the first action – the Japanese strike – from the series of protests organized by the CulturMedia Federation.
The strike is taking place as a reaction, the trade unionists claim, “to the Government’s attitude of ignoring and humiliating all the employees of museums and public libraries by not honoring the promises made to eliminate the salary inequities that appeared as an effect of GEO 128/2023, vis-à-vis the education system”.
Employees of the Prahova County Museum of History and Archeology will also be on strike.
“Considering the fact that some of the employees of the Prahova County Museum of History and Archeology are part of the Trade Union of the National Museum of History of Romania, and the request of our institution to grant the legal personality of its own Trade Union is being processed by the Ploiești Court , informs you of the following:
-starting on April 4, 2024, the employees of the Prahova County Museum of History and Archeology and its subordinate sections will participate in a series of protest actions against the situation in which the employees of this socio-professional category are“, is the announcement posted by employees on the Facebook page.
Thus, according to the announcement, on Thursday, April 4, 2024, “a Japanese strike will break out. This is the first stage in the calendar of national protest actions, which will culminate with the triggering of the General Strike in May 2024“.
