Alba Transilvana Book Fair 2024: Representatives of the “Lucian Blaga” County Library from Alba Iulia presented on Monday the program of one of the most anticipated cultural events in Alba county.

This year it will open its doors on May 10, 2024, starting at 10.30am.

Alba24 discussed the event with the manager of the “Lucian Blaga” Library in Alba Iulia, Silvan Stâncel, who held a press conference on Monday together with the writer Cornel Nistea, the president of the Alba Hunedoara branch of the Romanian Writers’ Union.

“Don’t forget to come to the book fair because we have everything for everyone. First of all, we have a lot of books, of the best quality, at very good prices, with a substantial discount, the publishers announce to us this year…

We hope for good weather because we will have a lot of writers launching their books. We are talking about the beloved Ana Blandiana, Cristian Tudor Popescu, father Constantin Necula, we will have musical moments, the band Bere Gratis on the first day of the book fair, Florin Chilian on Saturday and Paula Seling on the third day” said Silvan Stâncel, the manager of the Library “Lucian Blaga” from Alba Iulia.

He added that the event will also host conferences, including on the topic of artificial intelligence.

“Daniel Nazare will talk to us about the fact that robots also fear for their future, and I say that sometimes controversial topics remain attractive and valuable,” Stâncel said.

More than 70 publishing houses will have stands at the Alba Iulia book fair.

Program of the Alba Transilvana Book Fair 2024

Throughout the duration of the fair, i.e. between May 10-12, 2024, the organizers have prepared numerous surprises for book lovers from the area of written culture and beyond.

The first day of the book fair will end with a conference given by Ana Blandiana and the concert of the Bere Gratis band.

On the second day, May 11, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m., there will be events for children:

the Folk School concert and the theater workshop at the Children’s Palace in Alba Iulia
Theater and book with the band Skepsis
drawing and facepainting workshops
the launch of the children’s books “Filip discovers the world” and “Treasure on the street of joy”.

At 14.00, the book launches of the Tritonic, Ecou Transilvan, Ars Longa and Humanitas publishing houses will begin.

Passionate about travel and photography, Liviu Stănescu will present his travel book “I was at the end of the world” at Alba Iulia.

At 17.30, Costel Pătrășcanu follows with the book “One per night”.

The second day of the Alba Transilvana Book Fair will end with the conference “Eminescu – a character of Caragiale” and a meeting with the readers of the well-known journalist Cristian Tudor Popescu.

The evening will end with a concert performed by the well-known musician Florin Chilian.
