An earthquake occurred in Serbia on Tuesday afternoon. The earthquake occurred near a city in Romania: Drobeta-Turnu Severin.

On April 02, 2024 at 15:45:28 (local time of Romania) a weak earthquake occurred in Serbia with a magnitude of ml 2.0, at a depth of 3.1 km.

The earthquake occurred near the following towns: 61km W of Vidin, 66km SW of Drobeta-Turnu Severin, 91km NE of Krusevac, 94km N of Nis, 99km E of Kragujevac.

It is the second earthquake to occur in the neighboring country in just 5 days.

The earthquake occurred near the following towns: 28km E of Kraljevo, 28km S of Kragujevac, 32km NW of Krusevac, 56km E of Cacak, 82km NE of Novi Pazar, 85km NW of Nis, 96km E of Uzice, 99km S of Smederevo, 99km N of Mitrovica.

8 million homes in Romania do not have mandatory insurance

One in five homes are not protected by the insurance that Romanians are obliged to take out, it was stated at a conference where the authorities presented the best projection in the event of an earthquake in Romania.

“1 out of 2 Romanians is afraid that their home will be affected by an earthquake or a fire. We always say that it can’t happen to us, but things are not quite like that. The risks are with us, we just have to be aware of them”, said Alina Bărbulescu, general insurance specialist UNSA
