The Alliance for the Union of Romanians will have candidates for the position of mayor in 47 of the 102 administrative-territorial units of Mureș county, in the local elections that will take place this year, on June 9.

The launch of the candidacies took place on Sunday, March 31, on the occasion of a county-wide event organized in the Great Hall of the Palace of Culture in Târgu Mureș, in which the AUR leader, George Simion, also participated for a few minutes.

“It is very important, more than ever, that Romanians are united, not divided, by the political parties”, George Simion told the participants of the launch event.

“I want to tell you that after the three and a half years of work within AUR Mureș, I am more convinced and confident than ever. Although we started this construction somewhat timidly, in 2020 we were barely a handful of people, and in the local elections we barely managed to form 20 teams for local councils. Today, from 20 teams for local councils, we will go with 74 lists of local councilors in Mureș county and with 47 candidates for the position of mayor”, said Răzvan Biro, the leader of AUR Mureș and candidate for the position of president of the Mureș County Council .
