Romania becomes the main actor in the post-war reconstruction in Ukraine through the construction of the new Border Bridge – Bistrita News – Bistrita Newspapers

--

In Tuesday’s meeting, the Romanian government would approve an agreement with the Government of Ukraine for the construction of a border road bridge over the Tisa river, on the border between the two states, in the area of Sighetu Marmației – Bila Tserkva. This bridge is an important step in the larger plan to make Romania a major “player” in the reconstruction of Ukraine, facilitating the transit of humanitarian aid and infrastructure projects.

The estimated duration of the bridge’s execution is 20 months, and the total value of the project is approximately 130 million lei.

The bridge, with a total length of 540 meters, will have parking for cars (13 spaces) and trucks (10 spaces), including vehicle scales. Five lanes will be provided for each direction of traffic: one lane for buses, two lanes for cars and two for trucks.

In the current context, Romania is consolidating its strategic position, being a crucial point for the transit and storage of aid destined for Ukraine. Infrastructure investments, such as the new border bridge and projects in Galati and Brăila, will significantly contribute to post-war reconstruction in Ukraine.

In parallel with this project, works are being carried out in Brăila and Galati counties for the construction of an airport and a logistics hub. These initiatives will attract foreign investment and stimulate the local economy, having a significant impact on regional development.

The agenda of the Executive meeting also includes the adoption of revenue and expenditure budgets for various institutions, as well as other legislative and administrative projects of strategic importance for Romania.

These initiatives reconfirm Romania’s commitment to promoting stability and reconstruction in the Eastern European region, strengthening partnerships and contributing to regional security and development.
