“Ana Aslan” National College is the first building that will enter the tender procedure, in mid-May, among those for which the Timisoara local administration obtained funding through the 2020-2026 PNRR, Component C10: Local Fund.. Once contracted works, they have a deadline of 12 months.
The project is part of the investment objective “Construction of framework, thermal rehabilitation and interior changes to the school body of the National College “Ana Aslan”. Almost 8 million lei are needed to carry out the rehabilitation works of the roof and to restore the heating, electrical and sanitary installations.
The rehabilitation of “Ana Aslan” College consists in the thermal insulation of the building, thus providing increased thermal comfort and better learning conditions for almost 450 students. This project aims to reduce costs for heating the building and renovating 13 classrooms, 5 laboratories, 3 school offices, the gym, the library, the medical and psychological laboratory. The investment includes thermal insulation works, the replacement of the carpentry with a heat-insulating one and the modernization of the electrical and thermal installations, which will lead to the improvement of energy efficiency by 50% and the reduction of CO2 emissions by 50%.
“We continue a necessary process of modernization of schools and kindergartens in Timișoara and Ana Aslan college follows in line. We are preparing the tender to find a builder for the thermal rehabilitation of the building built in 1950. If the procedure goes smoothly, this year we can start the work, which would take about a year. We invest 20% of Timișoara’s development budget in education so that all students in Timișoara have conditions study methods, regardless of whether they study in a neighborhood school or in one center” said Mayor Dominic Fritz.
