The Faculty of Letters and Arts of ULBS was, on March 29 and 30, the host of workshops carried out in partnership with students and professors from the University of Ljubljana. The activities carried out within the TRADESPACE international research project (Traduire l’espace : Les littératures de l’Europe Centrale et Orientale) brought together Siberian and Slovenian students (coordinated by Katarina Marinčič and Ioana Jieanu). Literary spaces and the challenges generated by translations into/from French were discussed, in a francophone workshop coordinated by Mihaela-Gențiana Stănișor-Enache. The team from Ljubljana capitalized, on the occasion of the debate, their good knowledge of the Romanian language and literature, actively participating in this intercultural exchange.
On Saturday, at the ASTRA Library, the young researchers entered into a dialogue with the Slovenian author Katarina Marinčič, starting from her novel “Din spusele lor” (translated into Romanian by Paula Braga Šimenc). Winner of the renowned Kresnik Prize (for the volume “Hidden Harmony” – 2001), the author explained the fictional modeling of the Romanian space in her writings and the mechanisms of the choice of characters.
“Lucian Blaga” University in Sibiu is the beneficiary of the TRADESPACE project (coordinator Alina Bako), which takes place within a consortium with the University of Zagreb and associated partners, the University of Ljubljana, the University of Padua, the University of Udine and the University of Ankara. In the next period, several workshops will be held in Zagreb and Sibiu, with hybrid participation (online and onsite). The project is financed by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) through the SER-ECO program.
