Will Iulian Dumitrescu – with the support of the PNL – run for a new mandate as president of the Prahova County Council (CJ), after the liberal came under the radar of the DNA? Asked about this, PNL president Nicolae Ciucă said that “no one is above the law”.
The head of the liberal formation emphasized, on Thursday evening, March 28, that, after the PNL leadership receives the candidate proposals from the Prahova branch, a decision will be made based on “laws and principles”.

“No one is above the law. State institutions must do their job and that is the legal responsibility of each of us who break the law. On the other hand, I – both in my military career and now – led and made decisions based on rules and principles.
When I receive the proposals from the branch, I will make the decision according to the Constitution, laws and principles. At this moment there is no decision”, answered Ciucă, when asked, in a show on Romania TV, if Iulian Dumitrescu will run again in the local elections in Prahova county, supported by the PNL.
We remind you that on Thursday it was learned that the anti-corruption prosecutors extended the measure of judicial control against the president of the Prahova County Council, Iulian Dumitrescu, by another 60 days.
He is being investigated by anti-corruption prosecutors for bribery and false statements. On February 1, he announced that he had decided to resign from all positions in the PNL, “because the party has nothing to do with this case”. “As I have already stated, I have provided the prosecutors with all the requested information and data”, Iulian Dumitrescu said in a message posted on his Facebook page.
Dumitrescu held the positions of president of PNL Prahova and first vice-president of PNL.
