A man allegedly stabbed the administrator of the apartment block where he lived in Bucharest more than 25 times

A 57-year-old man from the Capital was detained, on Friday, after allegedly stabbing the administrator of the block where he lived, in Sector 2, after a conflict he had with the woman, according to Agerpres.

Prosecutors have opened a criminal case against the man for the crime of murder, according to a press release from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Court.

The investigators note that, on Thursday, around 7:15 p.m., against the background of a previous conflict situation, the defendant armed himself with a knife, went to the administration room of the block where he lived, located in Bucharest, Sector 2, and stabbed the victim (the 55-year-old administrator of the building) multiple stab wounds in the thoracic-abdominal area and in the arms area, causing her numerous wounds that led to her death.

“One of the two eyewitnesses called the emergency number 112, and the medical crews arrived at the scene and found the death of the victim. The defendant was found in the building, carrying the knife with which he had committed the crime. The victim’s body was transported to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine ‘Mina Minovici’, and the autopsy performed on Friday morning revealed more than 25 stab wounds. The measure of detention was taken against the defendant for a period of 24 hours”, the statement states.

The case was referred to the judge of rights and liberties at the Bucharest Court, with a proposal for preventive arrest of the defendant for a period of 30 days, informs the Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigations are being continued by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Bucharest Court and the General Directorate of Police of the Municipality of Bucharest – Homicide Service. (photo source Dreamstime)
