The women’s 8+1 crew consisting of Magdalena Rusu, Roxana Anghel, Adriana Adam, Maria Lehaci, Mădălina Bereş, Amalia Bereş, Ioana Vrînceanu, Simona Radiş and Victoria-Ştefania Petreanu won, on Sunday, the gold medal at the European Rowing Championships in Szeged.

The tricolors were clocked with a time of 06:32.00.

Great Britain finished in second place (06:35.16), and Italy ranked third (06:37.41).

Romania also won seven medals in Szeged – three gold, two silver and two bronze.

Gold: women’s double rowing, light category (Gianina van Groningen and Ionela Cozmiuc), women’s rowing double (Ioana Vrânceanu and Roxana Anghel), men’s double rowing (Andrei Cornea and Marian Enache)

Silver: women’s four frames (Mădălina Bereş, Maria Lehaci, Magdalena Rusu and Amalia Bereş), men’s double frames (Florin Arteni and Florin Lehaci)

Bronze: men’s 8+1 (Mihăiţă Șigănescu, Ciprian Tudosă, Constantin Adam, Mugurel Vasile Semciuc, Florin Arteni, Sergiu Bejan, Ştefan Berariu, Florin Lehaci and Adrian Muntean), women’s double rowing (Simona Radiș and Ancuța Bodnar)
