Cluj: Searches in a case of false material and fraud. An employee of a public institution issued false medical documents

The Cluj police officers carried out several home searches in a case of forgery and fraud. A woman, employed in an institution, drew up medical documents without having this right.

“On March 28 of this year, the police officers of the Turda Municipality Police conducted 5 home searches, as part of a criminal case concerning the crimes of forgery of material in official documents in continuous form (15 material documents) and fraud.”reports IPJ Cluj.

Searches were carried out at the homes of 2 natural persons, as well as at the premises of 3 legal persons, namely a public institution, a center for the elderly and an economic operator from the municipality of Turda.

“From the research, it emerged that, in the period 2020 – 2023, a 55-year-old woman from Turda, an official in an institution, would have drawn up several official documents in the field of medicine, without having this right, on which would have been handed over to natural and legal persons.”informs IPJ Cluj.

Following the searches, several documents with probative value were discovered and seized, as well as other goods of interest in the case.

The investigations were started by the Cluj Criminal Investigations Bureau, under the coordination of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Turda Court, following the notification made by the representatives of a public institution in the municipality of Turda.

Following the checks carried out, the representatives of the Cluj Territorial Labor Inspectorate, the Cluj Emergency Situations Inspectorate and those of the Cluj Public Health Directorate applied 12 contraventional sanctions, totaling more than 27,000 lei.

In order to comply with the entire regulatory framework that regulates the activity of economic operators, the action benefited from the support of the Turda Public Order Office, the Turda Rural Police Section 9, the Criminalistics Service, the Explosive Weapons and Dangerous Substances Service, the County Inspectorate of Gendarmerie Cluj-Detachment 4 Turda, the Territorial Inspectorate of Muncă Cluj, the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Cluj and the Directorate of Public Health Cluj.
