The Prefect of Prahova competes with Iulian Dumitrescu for the County Council

Virgiliu Nanu, PSD Prahova president and prefect of the county, competes with Iulian Dumitrescu, accused of corruption and under judicial control, for the presidency of the Prahova County Council.

The Prefect of Prahova County, Virgiliu Nanu, announced that he has taken the steps necessary to terminate his mandate as Prefect, in order to run for the presidency of the Prahova County Council. For this position, PNL Prahova announced that it supports Iulian Dumitrescu, accused of corruption and under judicial control.

PSD leader Prahova made the announcement in a press conference in which he had on the lectern next to the television microphones, the model of a Bentley and a Lamborghini, the brands of cars driven by Iulian Dumitrescu and his wife. Unlike the “Lamborghini Baron”, Virgiliu Nanu described himself as “a normal man”, who uses domestic cars, a Duster and a Logan.

“I have already taken the necessary steps to apply the law, so that I can run without any problem. So the steps are being taken, probably next week or in a maximum of two weeks, my mandate as prefect of Prahova county will end”, Virgiliu Nanu announced on Thursday.

Nanu has officially submitted the request to terminate his mandate as prefect.

“My candidacy and that of the mayor Andrei Volosevici was validated in the National Political Council last week”, said Virgiliu Nanu.

PSD President Prahova also brought a series of criticisms to the self-suspended leader of PNL Prahova, Iulian Dumitrescu, with direct reference to a project to introduce a gas supply network in the Slănic Valley in Prahov county. This despite the fact that in the area there is no connection between the system on Valea Slănicului and the national supply system operated by Transgaz.
