In the evening of April 27, the Saturday of Flowers, at the Metropolitan Cathedral, as every year, the Flower procession took place. All the priests from Sibiu met at the Metropolis and together with the faithful they started, with consecrated willow branches in their hands, on a road that symbolizes the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.
The procession took place after the Vespers service with Litia, officiated by His Holiness Laurenţiu, the Archbishop of Sibiu and the Metropolitan of Transylvania.
The willow branches consecrated at the church are distributed to the faithful, who place them, in the form of wreaths, at the icons or above the gates, at the entrance to the courtyards.
