After decisively winning the 8th Series, being the only undefeated team among all the components of the IIIrd Football League, the FC Bihor Oradea team is now preparing for its debut in the play-offs. In this phase, the first four teams in the series qualified, which enter with the points accumulated in the regular season and which will evolve according to the round – return – round system, in total, each team having 9 matches to play.

FC Bihor enters the play-off with 46 points, Poli Timisoara with 39 points, CSC Peciu Nou with 36 points, and Phoenix Buziaş with 32 points.

The first stage of the play-off is scheduled for the end of this week, Saturday, March 30, when FC Bihor will receive the replica of Phoenix Buziaş at home, and in Timisoara, Poli will again face CSC Peciu Nou. Both disputes are scheduled at 3 p.m.

After the regular season and before the play-offs, the management of the FC Bihor team organized a press conference on Thursday at the Iuliu Bodola Stadium, which was attended by the club’s president, George Tătar, the team’s head coach, Florin Farcaş, and the player Răzvan Gunie.

“First of all, I want to congratulate the team and the technical staff for the very good results. We finished the regular championship in 1st place, being the only undefeated team in the 3rd League and I think we can have high hopes and we are confident that we can achieve our goal of promoting to the 2nd League. I also want to thank the supporters who were with us and I expect them in even greater numbers from match to match”, said, at the opening of the conference, the president George Tătar.

“On the right way”

Coach Florin Farcaş also made an analysis of the evolution of the regular season and what is to come in the play-offs.

“We are on a good path. We finished the first phase of the three that we proposed, that of ending the regular championship in first place. Now a new phase begins, a rather interesting play-off in terms of what the composition of the teams means. We hope that this play-off will be as successful as our evolutions in the championship, that we will achieve the goal we set for ourselves”, said Florin Farcaş.

One of the best and most consistent players of the Oradea team in the regular season was Răzvan Gunie. “We finished a first stage of this season, we won the series, being the only undefeated team. We hope to continue the good developments in the play-offs as well, with the consistency we had in the games and we hope to keep on the same path”, said Răzvan Gunie.

Good financial situation

The flag football team of Bihor county is not only performing very well in this period, but also from a financial point of view, as stated by the president George Tătar.

“From a financial point of view, FC Bihor is very ready to take the next step. As is well known, we are the third-tier team with the highest revenues in the private sector. We also have stability at the level of the City Hall and the County Council. For now, from the money allocated by them, we have drawn only 100 thousand euros and, thus, we still have 350 thousand euros that we can receive until the end of this season. As such, we are very well and ready. I want to tell you that in the meantime those from the private sector are coming with us, these days we have again announced some partnerships, which makes us very happy”, said George Tătar.

Debut in the play-off, with Buziaş

The first play-off game is this weekend, on Saturday, March 30, from 3 p.m., at the Iuliu Bodola Stadium, with Phoenix Buziaş. The team from Timiş county caught the play-off in the last stage.

“As I said in the summer, after playing in a friendly with them, that Buziaş will be one of the teams that will catch the play-off, relying, first of all, on the quality of the players who were there, on the playing style and profile imposed by the coach, who was a colleague of mine at the A degree in Bucharest, here is what happened. I knew how the team prepares, and today it was confirmed that Buziaş is one of the teams that got the play-off. It’s a pretty sharp team, quite qualitative from a technical point of view, it knows how to defend very well, it plays very well in positive transition. We are ready to play a good game and win the game on Saturday. We must not forget, however, that Buziaş is a team that has not lost any away game, apart from the match against us, so it will certainly not be an easy game”, said Florin Farcaş.

Chitaş has recovered

In other news, Florin Chitaş has recovered and is fit to play, and Luca Tincău has returned and has already completed five training sessions, and he can be included in the squad for the next match. Instead, there are still problems with Sergiu Ciocan, who did not enter the training program, and Andrei Vînău is at 50% capacity, as stated by the head coach.

“We start with good morale in the play-offs. We know that all the teams in the play-off will come back more motivated, but we have to show them once again that we are the leader of the championship and we are the only undefeated team”, said Răzvan Gunie, at the press conference on Thursday.

As President George Tătar informed, even in the play-off phase, the price of an entrance ticket to the match will be 10 lei, and children under 14 and people with disabilities will continue to have free access.
