Two teenagers from Galati were detained by the police after allegedly assaulting a group of four minors on a street in Micro 19. While one, who is already 16 years old, risks being placed in custody, a second one will be examined neuro-psychiatric to find out if he had discernment over the acts of violence he committed.
The attack took place two weeks ago, in the evening of March 12, on Costache Conachi street. Four teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17 found themselves face to face with two other boys of similar ages. Apparently for no reason, the two allegedly assaulted the four, one of them pulling out a knife and threatening them. The young people ran away, through the blocks, after which they went to the 3rd Ward, where they told what happened.
“A criminal file was drawn up for the crime of hitting or other violence, and following the investigative activities carried out, the police identified the persons suspected of committing these acts, being two minors, aged 16 and 15, respectively, both from the municipality Galatians. It was also established that the 15-year-old minor, at the time of the assault, would have threatened the victims with a knife and, together with the other minor, would have chased them even after they ran across the street in order to escape.” stated cms. chief Felicia Tudoran, spokesperson of IPJ Galati during Thursday, March 28.
After 16 days of investigations, the police officers of Section 3 identified the suspects, regarding whom they are now also investigating for disturbing public order and peace, threatening and carrying and using dangerous objects without the right.
The 16-year-old teenager was detained for 24 hours, a prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Galati Court will decide what measure he will propose regarding him. His friend, younger by a year, will have to undergo a medico-legal examination to determine if he has the necessary discernment to face criminal charges.
