During the “Make Europe Great Again” International Conference, organized by the Institute for Conservative Political Studies “Mihai Eminescu” over the weekend at the Parliament Palace, George Simion called for the boycott of Ursula von der Leyen, according to antena3, adevarul.ro writes.

In the context in which conservatives and sovereigntists from all corners of the world declared that the EU no longer serves the interests of Europe and that it must be reformed from the ground up, the leader of the AUR, George Simion, asked them to make a commitment that they will not support the candidacy of Ursula von der Leyen at the head of the EC.

“I would propose, at the end of this conference, that all parties in all 27 countries in Europe sign a statement not to vote for Mrs Ursula von der Leyen as the next head of the European Commission. We should all own up to this. The Polish people, the Romanian people, the Hungarian people, the Bulgarian people, the Slovaks, we were all caught between the Soviet times, between communism, and now between liberalism and globalism. And I hope that through this conference, through our united efforts and through a lot of work, we will manage to find our way to normality, to faith, to family”, George Simion asked.

For his part, AUR senator Claudiu Târziu gave a speech about what Europe should mean and what values the European Commission should promote. He specified that it is time to return to a Europe whose principles are based on classical Greek philosophy, Roman law and the Christian faith and to return to a culture of life.

“Europe must return to a culture of life, abandon the culture of death, which is increasingly important, especially through the ideological emanations of the European Commission, which aims, for example, to transform the killing of unborn children into a fundamental European right , which provides for constraints and obligations for doctors and in general for all those who defend life. A culture of death that wants to trivialize assisted suicide.” said Claudiu Târziu, AUR senator.

“Europe must defend and promote its ancient civilization which was founded on Greek philosophy, Roman law and the Christian faith. This ancient European civilization is in danger due to the phenomenon of migration. European policies have encouraged massive migrations”, he also said

Dutch MEP Robert Ross said that a distinction must be made between the EU and Europe, because the European Union is not Europe “Our continent is in a process of destruction. Our Europe is a Europe where family, community and nation are the cornerstones of society. The European Union is not Europe”, he stated.

Among the guests of the “Make Europe Great Again” International Conference was Alveda King, Martin Luther King’s niece. “I will make this little light of mine shine…” she said, concluding: “God bless! Make Europe great again!”.

Michael Kleiner, the leader of the Nationalist Movement in Israel, believes that “liberalism took religion out of our lives. The year 2024 will be a turning point in history. Let’s hope that a united Europe will emerge”.

The West must rearm, strengthen its defense, modernize it, strengthen its defense industry and strengthen NATO.” claimed the British conservative Geoffrey van Orden on stage.
