A 22-year-old man from Straja is under criminal investigation for several crimes after he drove a car drunk on the night of Sunday to Monday within the radius of Falcău village and ran into a fence, then leaving the scene of the accident.
The police from Vicovu de Sus were alerted, on Monday morning, at 00:52 by 112, that there was a road accident with victims within the radius of Brodina commune, Falcău village.
The police crew that moved to the indicated place identified an Audi A4 car that was outside the roadway, showing damage, and through the windshield of the car, three pieces of wood from the fence destroyed by the car were penetrated into the driver’s side. the person who drove the car not being identified on the spot.
During the checks carried out in the database, it was established that the car involved in the accident belongs to a woman from the Police.
Later, the police officers from Vicovu de Sus were alerted at around 3:00 a.m. that the victim of a road accident presented himself at the Rădăuți Municipal Hospital, namely a 22-year-old young man from Straja diagnosed with “wounds on the upper and lower lip” .
The young man was tested with the Drager breathalyzer, the test result being 0.56 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air, a biological blood sample was collected to determine the alcohol level, and he was transported to the Suceava County Hospital for specialized care. not recognizing that he is the driver of the car involved in the accident
Also, at the Rădăuți Municipal Hospital, a 20-year-old woman from Vicovu de Sus was also identified, who stated that she drove the car involved in the accident, which is why she was tested with the alcohol test device, the test result being 0.00 mg/l pure alcohol in the exhaled air, and a biological blood sample was collected in order to determine the blood alcohol level.
The on-site investigation was carried out together with a forensic technician from the Rădăuți Police, on which occasion DNA samples were collected.
The checks show that on Monday morning around 00:50 the 22-year-old man drove the Audi A4 car on the unclassified Ciumârnar communal road, being under the influence of alcoholic beverages, and after a slight curve to the right, on a paved road, he lost control of direction of travel, left the roadway on the left side, entering a wooden fence, at which point three pieces of wooden material penetrated the windshield, on the driver’s side, injuring him in the mouth area.
In this case, a criminal investigation file was drawn up regarding the crimes of “leaving the scene of the accident or modifying or erasing its traces”, “driving on public roads under the influence of alcoholic beverages” and “culpable bodily injury”.
