Rail transport will switch to daylight saving time on Sunday, March 31, and a new fare increase will come into effect on Monday, April 1.

According to a press release from CFR Călători, from Sunday morning, passenger trains will run after summer time.

Practically, the CFR trains will run after the current time, the winter time, until the night of March 31, at 3:00 a.m., which will become 4:00 a.m.

After 4:00 a.m., trains will depart at the current train times, respecting official summer time.

If the departure time of several trains overlaps, they will leave the stations in order of rank, announces Radio Romania Constanta.

However, there will be changes in train traffic. Thus, on Sunday, two flights will be cancelled, one from the North Station to Henri Coandă Airport and one in the opposite direction.

Also, the Regio Roşiori de Vede – Bucharest Basarab train will run with a modified timetable.

Given that in the neighboring countries the switch to summer time is made on the same day, Sunday, March 31, 2024, between the border stations with the neighboring countries, the trains will run according to the schedules of the train in force.

In addition, from April 1, a new fare increase was approved at CFR Călători.

According to Club Feroviar, a publication specialized in the field, the rates to which the biggest increases will be applied are those for bed supplements in sleeping cars and sleeping cars, but there are also prices that will remain unchanged.

CFR Călători management explained that the increase is a necessity due to the financial and operational pressures faced by the railway industry.

The last price increase was made by the train transport company in December of last year.

You can get information about train traffic and tickets by calling 021-9521 or on the website www.cfrcalatori.ro.

Also on the website, the web cameras from the Bucharest Nord, Henri Coandă Airport, Timișoara, Craiova, Brașov, Iași, Cluj Napoca and Constanța stations are functional and permanently updated, indicating the arrival and departure times of the trains.
