Mayor Astrid Fodor announced, on Thursday, during a press conference, her candidacy for a new mandate.

The Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania (FDGR) announced, on Thursday, during a press conference, its candidates for the local elections. Astrid Fodor will run again for the position of mayor of Sibiu.

Gabriel Tischer, FDGR president, introduced Astrid Fodor, also announcing that he has decided to run for a seat on the City Council. “I decided to run for the City Council because from that position I can get involved in the city’s projects and because there, together with the mayor, whom we present today as a candidate of the Forum for a new mandate, from that position together with Mrs. Fodor, we will complete the projects properly. We will have a strong team with us, people with expertise, willing to get involved. An iron hand in a velvet glove, Mrs. Astrid Fodor must continue as mayor of Sibiu,” said Gabriel Tischer.

Astrid Fodor announced that she will run for a mandate out of the desire to continue the projects she proposed, some in advanced stages, others in the early stages.

“Thank you Mr. President of the German Forum for the introduction. As for me, I will submit my candidacy for a new mandate at Sibiu City Hall. I do it with conviction, with determination and with the promise that I will get involved 100% in the realization of the projects that I have proposed, which are in various stages. Some are at an advanced stage, others at an early stage. They are projects that ensure the development that I started in 2000. I was fully supported by my colleagues in the City Council and many times also by all the councilors from other political formations. My achievements legitimize me. (…) I rely most on the support of the people of Sibiu, those who live and work in the city of Sibiu, not only those who were born here. My campaign will focus on projects, I will not focus on opponents”, said Astrid Fodor.
